Provision of Transcription Services (with Optional Translation Services)

The IFAD Office of Audit and Oversight is issuing this invitation to tender in order to select one or more companies to carry out transcription and translation services. The duration of the contract will be for three years renewable, upon fully satisfactory performance.

DESCRIPTION OF THE REQUIREMENTS

1. IFAD’s Office of Audit and Oversight (AUO) often conducts investigative interviews that are recorded and have to be transcribed. In this regard, the following services are required:
a. Transcription services in English (approximate average of 10 hours per month)
b. Transcription services in French (approximate average of 5 hours per month)
c. Transcription services in Spanish (occasional)

The transcription service should have a high degree of accuracy, that is, every word in the audio file captured and attributed to the correct speaker. The protection of the confidentiality of material received is a paramount IFAD requirement and the provider will be expected to outline the process in place for this purpose, and references that can attest to this.

2. AUO also requires occasional translation services from audio files or documents in French, Spanish and/or Arabic to the English language. In this regard, if service providers are able to also provide any of these translation services, this information, together with the related costs, should be included in the proposal.

The translation service should have a high degree of accuracy. The protection of the confidentiality of material received is a paramount IFAD requirement and the provider will be expected to outline the process in place for this purpose and references that can attest to this.

3. Quotes are welcome for only one of the services required (transcription services in English), or any combination of the above required and optional services.
