Description
1. Brief description of Scope of Bid
Initially the second floor of the building was intended for conference use and therefore renovation was focused only in this floor and the constraction is in advanced stage. Now there is a need to even renovate the first floor as it is in a poor condition, even rebars of columns and beams are exposed. Furthermore, the roofing is also old and it is time to be replaced.
Therefore, the Ambassador of the Palau Government to the United Nations, which is driver of this project, has requested renovations to the ground floor of OEK Building. There is also potential that ground floor can be used for bilateral meetings during the conference.
Following are work items under this bid:
1) Removal of the existing roofing and purlins and installation of aluminium roofing and gutters;
2) Reinforced concreting of the 4" thick 3000psi walkway;
3) Construction of a 12-inch wide drain;
4) Replacement of floor carpets;
5) Replacement of the damaged ceiling panel;
6) Replacement of the interior floor tiles with glazed ceramic tiles;
7) Replacement of the existing windows with aluminium framed tinted glass;
8) Installation of kitchen sink;
9) Installation of glazed ceramic wall tiles;
10) Installation of standard accessible water closet;
11) Installation of 12,000 BTU split type air conditioner units;
12) Installation of 24"x48" LED flat ceiling lights;
13) Installation of wall mounted power receptacles;
14) Paintings; and
17) Other minor items.

New amendment added #2: Item No. 5.3 which is ACU encasing is now changed to continuous structure replacing 32 standalone units, wihich may not look good.Item No. 8.05 was added as new item which is wooden cabinet to encase existing electrical wirings.In the earlier BoQ serial numbering was wrong and has been corrected. A5 drawing which is revision of A5 is added here as revised.

New amendment added #1: Item No. 5.3 was amended to replace concrete framed encasement for Air Conditioning units by aluminium louver excasement. The BoQ is therefore revised and uploaded. Sample photo of aluminium louver encasement was also uploded for easy reference.

New clarification added: Dear BidderThank you for the comments. See our responses below.1. ACU outside cover suggesting aluminium louver encasement is a brilliant idea and we appreciate it. We will change as per the suggestion in the BoQ. The revised BoQ will be uploaded. The item dimension was provided and quantity thus was changed to EACH from SF. 2. The drain cover will not change for the following reason:Corrosion issuesThis u-ditch is along or crossing the walkways, so steel grating cover is unsafe for high heel shoes. Thank you.UNOPS Team
