REQUEST FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST 1. The United Nations Ecnonomic Commision for Africa, Sub Regional Office for Central Africa seeks Expression of Interest (EOI) from duly registered companies for a site construction to house two (02) 150 KVA generator sets and power line wiring upgrade works at UNECA/SRO-CA in Yaounde, Cameroon. More specifically, the project aims at: - Building sites to accommodate 2 generators of 150 KVA each - Constructing a firewall for the protection of generators - Building a room to house the diesel tanks that will feed the generators - Building a control room for the generators - Supplying and installing of electrical cabinets including the general low voltage switchboard (TGBT) - Installing 2 petrol tanks of 1500 liters each as well as the filling device and the diesel and electricity pipes for the generators - Installing a lightning rod with a starting device - Updating the electrical system of UNECA/SRO-CA as well as the installing all cabling and lighting systems - Establishing a fire safety system for the generators and electrical cabinets, connected to the existing system at UNECA/SRO-CA. 2. UNECA/SRO-CA will undertake a competitive bidding exercise shortly and accordingly intends to issue a Request for proposal (RFP) to those companies who would express their interest and provide initial relevant information demonstrating their abilitity to fulfill their requirements. In addition, the interested companies will be requested to complete UN Vendor registration for level 1 on the vendor database accessible on ungm.org (new vendor only). A detail Scope of Work (SOW) will be provided to companies short listed for receipt of the RFP documents. Interested vendors must also be able to provide a licence to show that they are authorized to operate in cameroon and should have an office in Yaounde. 3. The EOI should specify brief relevant information about the company including the company's profile, capacity/capability and experience. Vendors will be shortlisted based on their ability to provide the relevant documents showing that they are have the capacity to perform this task. 4. Please note that this request for EOI is not an invitation for submission of proposal. 5. UNECA/SRO-CA reserves the right in selecting the invitees for the competitive bidding based on substantial and proven records of peformance in the subject field of activities and submission of an EOI would not automatically warrant receipt of the RFP documents. UNECA/SRO-CA reserves the right to reject EOI's received after the deadline indicated below. 6.
