Database Development consultant

Within the framework of the work plan of the Ocean Science Section IOC HAB programme and with the support of IODE technical expertise, the Consultant shall: 1. Develop a database and portal to hold data on HAB events consistent with data fields and functionalities of the current HAEDAT taking into account a list of identified bugs and desired new functionalities (Annex 1); 2. Finalize the existing HAIS component holding information of algal toxins. This includes the option to duplicate records for quicker data entry (or alternatively, an option to upload entries as Excel), a download function to CSV format, and synchronization with other HAIS components (WoRMS and HAEDAT). The desired changes are listed in Annex 1; 3. Provide regular updates for consultation and feedback to the IOC HAB programme lead, relevant IODE staff and the IPHAB HAEDAT task team.
