Description

UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security. Placing women’s rights at the center of all its efforts, UN Women leads and coordinates United Nations system efforts to ensure that commitments on gender equality and gender mainstreaming translate into action throughout the world. It provides strong and coherent leadership in support of Member States’ priorities and efforts, building effective partnerships with civil society and other relevant actors.

This Request For Proposal (RFP) is issued for the purpose of supporting the organization-wide initiative of developing a business intelligence architecture that provides improved access to information, fostering more informed decision-making. The Business Intelligence (BI) tool is an integral part of the information architecture that will be used by the UN Women staff to analyze data and present actionable information to help corporate executives, business managers and other end users make more informed business decisions.

Information is fragmented over multiple systems and is not readily available to users including senior management. Reporting is a tedious task which cannot be accomplished without consolidating various pieces of data. UN Women is currently using a variety of databases to support the business processes automations including

PeopleSoft ERP for human capital management financial accounting and procurement (Oracle RDBMS);

SQL Server databases for the line of business applications including Grants management system, UN Systems Wide Action Plan, Statistics on women and girls, etc.

Microsoft Excel for the business processes that are not automated yet
