Description
The United Nations Global Service Center (UNGSC), with its Headquarters located in Brindisi (Italy), seeks an appropriately qualified contractor for the establishment of a long-term contract for the provision of services for Maintenance and Repair of the United Nations Owned Medical Equipment and related accessories. The Contractor shall ensure the functionality and efficiency of the medical equipment through the execution of scheduled maintenance activities, in respect of the quality assurance criteria compliant with the ISO 9001:2008 standard. The services shall be performed either within the UNGSC’s premises located in Aeroporto Militare “Pierozzi,” Brindisi (Italy) or at the Contractor’s premises in line with the agreed terms and condition. The medical equipment includes but is not limited to the following: Sterilization machines, Blood machines, Audiometry instrument, Anaesthesia Machine, ECG machine (3-6-12 channel), X-ray machine, electronic Spirometry, Defibrillator - semiautomatic, Ventilator stationary, Multiline vital signs monitor, Ultrasound Unit SSD 1100 with 3 probes, Biochemical analyser – dry chemistry (‘Reflotron’), Haematology analyzer with complete count and diff. + CRP, Blood gas analyzer (hospital only), Hemodialysis Machine, Bronchoscope with cold light supply, suction pump, compact work station, Gastroscope with cold light supply, suction pump, compact work station, spares, and standard accessories. The main Categories of Services are as follows: 1) Scheduled/Periodic Maintenance, which aims to extend the useful life of the medical equipment and prevent failure through inspection and maintenance service by performing the below-listed operations on the equipment: a) Inspection and Preventive Maintenance, consisting of all the scheduled activities necessary to ensure a piece of medical equipment is functioning correctly; b) Corrective Maintenance, referring to the process used to restore the physical integrity, safety and/or performance of a device after a failure, and efficient troubleshooting; c) Certification and Calibration. 2) Technical Services, which may be required for repair of the medical equipment on “as and when required basis”; 3) Provision of Spare Parts for Medical Equipment, in case after inspecting and testing the medical equipment, it is determined that they are required to carry out the maintenance; 4) Additional Services, including Transportation Services for spare parts and consumables, training session on basic preventive and inspection maintenance of the medical equipment as well as their correct utilization. The services shall be performed by a Qualified Service Personnel, such as a Clinical Equipment Engineer or a Clinical Equipment Technician certified to inspect and maintain Clinical/Biomedical Equipment. The personnel shall be responsible for performing all tasks associated with the maintenance and repair of the medical equipment, the electrical safety inspections using specialized test equipment, providing technical reports related to the work performed and systematic preventive maintenance program; certification of medical equipment and confirmation that applicable accreditation standards are met, and provision of training to UNGSC’s personnel on essential safe operation and maintenance of the medical equipment The contract term shall be for an initial period of one (1) year, with the UNGSC's sole option to extend the term of the contract for an additional period of one (1) year.
