Description

UNOPS is providing advisory services to the local government of Qinhuangdao City for the development of a 55 square kilometre zone entitled the Asia-Pacific Smart Healthcare Demonstration Zone in Beidaihe New District, Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province, P.R. China.

The project aims to develop an international healthcare demonstration zone which integrates world-class medical education resources, technologies, services and facilities, and will set an industry leading model with “four high” features: High-Level Healthcare & Health Preservation, High-end Healthcare Tourism, High-end Smart System, and High-Class Innovation Model.

The objective is to promote the Asia-Pacific Smart Healthcare Demonstration Zone home and abroad, obtain international awareness / attention and exposure on a global scale in order to attract the required industries, research and development centres, think-tanks, organizations and associations interested in playing an active part in realising the Government's development vision. The Zone will be built up as a precedent for urban industrial structure optimization for other parts of China and other developing counties.

The 2019 International Life Science Summit (Beidaihe) will be a world-class life science conference, held in September 2019 in Beidaihe New District, in the city of Qinhuangdao. This year, the summit’s theme is “Defeat NCDs”. With an interdisciplinary nature, the summit will continue to encompass fields of medicine, science, art, policies and others, while paying close attention to NCDs prevention, early-detection, treatment, and care.  The aim of the summit is to allow China to build up its NCDs control and management platform, supporting Healthy China 2030 vision internationally. 

The targeted audience includes:

•      Research Institutions/Academies, R&D centers, Universities;

•      Investors; reputable global industry investment funds, healthcare leading enterprises; Associations;

•      Government officials.

The number of participants will be 250 to 300, nationally and internationally.
