PROVISION OF SATELLITE DATA AND VOICE COMMUNICATION IN SOMALIA (PM)

The United Nations Support Office in Somalia (UNSOS) has a requirement to has the requirement to provide ICT services to its personnel throughout Somalia and Kenya. 1.1. UNSOS seeks to engage the services of a qualified provider for the provision of satellite data and voice communication services to be used in Somalia and Kenya. 1.2. In case the prospective service provider is partnering with other companies to offer the services, such arrangements must be made clear in the proposal. 1.3. The services must be fully scalable in order to meet any increase in the requirements of UNSOS. The services are to be drawn on an “as and when required” basis. UNSOS may require more than 100 SIM cards. 1.4. UNSOS is currently using Thuraya and Iridium satellite phones for providing voice communication in Somalia and Kenya. For satellite data services, Inmarsat terminals are in use. 1.5. UNSOS intends to enter into a three-year contract for the services with an option to extend the contract for an additional period of two years under the same terms and conditions. The duration of the contract shall always be subject to the continuation of UNSOS's mandate, the availability of funds and the satisfactory performance of the contractor.provide specialized aviation training to AMISOM Personnel based in Somalia.
