Description
It is anticipated that the Procurement Section of the United Nations Office at Vienna will shortly be issuing a solicitation on the above subject. The purpose of this contract is to provide emergency assistance related to medical air ambulance service in event of serious life threatening medical emergency involving staff members serving in field locations of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crimes (UNODC) and their families. The service is expected to be available on a 24-hour basis and provide access to medical centers world-wide, with multi-lingual medical staff who can provide interpretation assistance and supervise any medical evacuation, provide legal assistance, visa assistance, and arrange emergency hospital deposits. In event that medical facilities are not available locally, the contractor will be expected to provide medical air transportation for evacuation under medical supervision, to the nearest medical facility with the capability of providing the required care. Transportation of remains in the event a commercial aircraft is not an option. The Contractor must have an established global network and infrastructure to deliver the services expected in geographical regions that are difficult to access and in areas of high risk. The Contractor must have a proven record of reliability in handling medical emergencies and in the successful provision of medical emergency transportation. Within this context the United Nations Office at Vienna is seeking to elicit Expression of Interest from companies able to provide such services
