Construction of Qasara Water Project in Iraq
Constructing Water Project in Qasara, Duhok Governorate in Iraq, a part of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED), in support of families to have better reliable water supply.
The work includes important and necessary activities to ensure provision of safe drinking water to refugee families and hosting community. It includes rehabilitation of existing boreholes/deep wells and providing new submersible pumps, rehabilitation of main pipeline and providing and installing new booster pumps and the construction of one pump house with civil and mechanical work. The project aims to supply potable water to Domiz 1 refugee camp in neighbouring host community.
Work is to be carried out by a contractor approved by UNHCR and in coordination with the local government to complete the work according to IRAQI General Technical Specifications (IGTS).
The quality of the work and the materials supplied by the contractor will be inspected by UNHCR engineers and the local government engineers. The work must be within engineering specifications/standards and time limit.
