Terms of Reference (summary):

The International Trade Centre (ITC) needs to fill the vacant posts of D2 Deputy Executive Director and P5 Chief, Strategic Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation and requires the assistance of an External Executive Search Company to complement its in-house recruitment and selection procedures to ensure that top-class candidates are identified.

With a view to pre-select potential suppliers for these services, this Call for expression of interest is being posted for companies with experience in the provision of executive searches for International Organizations and multinational enterprises.

The RFP and the terms of reference will be sent to those suppliers that have been selected by ITC to participate in the call for tender.

Both of these posts are part of the senior management team and perform critical functions within ITC, as well as representing ITC externally. The services of an External Executive Search Company will ensure that high calibre candidates are targeted and assessed, ultimately leading to the successful appointments of two key members of the Office of the Executive Director.

Submissions for expression of interest shall include the following elements, which represent the criteria for the pre‑selection of suppliers:

·          Organization, structure, and number and qualifications of staff.

·          Financial reports for the last 2 years (2007-2008), audited by an independent Audit company.

·          List of recent most important contracts to carry out executive searches, including those for international organizations.

·          Detailed proposal outlining how candidates will be targeted and assessed within the established ITC timeline (to be provided with the terms of reference)

·          Your acceptance, in writing, of the UN Supplier Code of Conduct posted on ITC Procurement Website.

Only those companies showing at least 5 years of experience in the provision of executive searches to International Organizations and multinational enterprises in a multi-cultural context and with a strong commitment to respect practices for the profession, strict confidentiality of the process, including the UN Supplier Code of Conduct, should express their interest.  Prior experience working with the UN system is a must.
