Description
The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), Bangkok, Thailand, is seeking a qualified and experienced contractor to provide the design, supply and installation of three VRV or VRF air-conditioning systems at the ESCAP, Bangkok as follows: • System no. 1: OICT (Office of Information and Communication) located at the ground Floor of the Service Building. Replacement of existing split-gas units with a new VRV/VRF system. • System no. 2: BMSU (Building Management Sub Unit) Control Room and Operators’ Office located at the basement of the Secretariat Building. Installation of a new VRV/VRF system. • System no. 3: ESCAP Staff Council and Activities Center located at the ground floor of the Secretariat Building. Replacement of existing split-gas units with a new VRV/VRF system. The contract shall have a duration of three (3) years, with two (2) optional extensions of one (1) year each. 1.1 Brief Statement of Works: • Supply, complete installation and commissioning of VRV (Variable Refrigerant Volume) or Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) Multi-Split Type air conditioning systems with indoor units, condenser units and fresh-air units for the three named systems. • Removal of the existing split-gas units of System 1 & 3. All parts of the existing air-conditioning systems e.g. refrigerant, oil, filter, drier, insulation material, piping, wiring and accessories shall be recovered, reused and/or disposed properly in accordance with international regulations (ISO 5149-4:2014 6.5). To reduce refrigerant losses, the vendor shall follow the required process for handling and storage of refrigerants (ISO 5149-4:2014). The recovered systems’ parts and refrigerant shall be returned to ESCAP properly. • The contractor shall design and install the complete system with condensing unit, indoor units, local controllers, materials, tools, refrigerant and piping, automatic condensate removal pumps, accessories, appliances, labour, delivery, offloading, lifting, supports, ceiling, penetrations and wall works, complete installation, testing, commissioning and all necessary works for the air-conditioning system. • The system will be equipped with supply of fresh air to the occupied areas in compliance with ASHRAE 62.1 “Ventilation for Acceptable Indoor Quality” • Wiring of BACnet integration network from the new systems to the Building Automation System (BAS) room located at the Basement of the Secretariat Building. • Provide all necessary materials to protect the exterior and interior of the buildings and any other related areas to ensure that there is no damage or dirtiness caused during execution of the work. Should such damage occur, the contractor shall be responsible for all necessary rectification works and are to be performed to the satisfaction of ESCAP. • Complete commissioning, testing and reports. 1.2 Design Condition for the Air-Conditioned Area • Design Room Air Temp. : 24.5 ± 1.0 °C • Relative Humidity : 50 ±10.0 % • Ambient Temp. : 39.0 °C 1.3 Requirement of VRV/VRF Air Conditioning System • The air-conditioning system to be installed shall be of variable refrigerant volume (VRV) or variable refrigerant flow (VRF) type. • Each VRV/VRF system shall have one outdoor unit (condensing unit) with sufficient designed cooling capacity for the operation of the premises during a typical summer day in Bangkok. • A cooling capacity calculation for the air-conditioning system for all the areas shall be performed and submitted for approval • The outdoor unit shall be constructed of materials which are corrosion resistant or made proof against corrosion after manufacture. • The outdoor unit shall be equipped with inverter for capacity control of compressors in the range of 20% to 100%. • The sound level for the outdoor unit shall not be greater than 65 dB(A) at 1 metre. For the indoor units, the sound level shall not be greater than 46 dB(A) at 1 metre • The designed indoor units shall be ceiling type, suspended, non-ducted, 1-way blow. • The proposed air-conditioning units shall be energy efficient with the COP greater than 4.00 (for the cooling operating condition: Indoor temp. of 27°C DB, 19°C WB, Outdoor temp of 35°C DB). • The proposed air-conditioning system shall have a local controller and BAS interface as specified in Section 2.6, Control and Interfacing. • The refrigerant used shall be ozone-friendly, zero ODP and Low GWP. • Thermal insulation suitable for the operating temperatures shall be applied to all sections of the refrigerant piping in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. • Including software support tools for maintenance and commissioning
