Description

The World Food Programme WFP is the world's largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger worldwide, delivering food assistance in emergencies and working with communities to improve nutrition and build resilience. Each year, WFP assists some 80 million people in around 80 countries.

WFP’s Individual Fundraising Programme brings in a minimum of $3 million gross income to WFP’s programmes every year and a key channel for income from Individuals is via email.

We have a file of over 700,000 members of the public who have given WFP their email address - either as subscribers to our email programme and/or have donator to WFP via our e-appeals. The email programme is therefore a key channel of income from the Individual Fundraising Team and, in 2016 alone we sent 59 email campaigns, which translated to over 19 million individual emails being delivered. This resulted in over $900,000 gross income to WFP in 2016. It should also be noted that in years of major emergency such as for example the Nepal Earthquake, returns can be even higher. For example, for just Nepal alone the team raised close to $250,000 from just 3 e-appeals.

With the above context in mind, WFP wishes to contract a service provider with the necessary core online fundraising tools required for the individual teams to be able to adequately manage the email programme.
