Description
The United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON) is seeking Expression of Interest (EOI) from competent and qualified firms for the provision of consultancy services in area of sustainable neighbourhood planning and housing design. UN-Habitat and the Government of Kenya are working together to develop a low income social housing scheme within Mavoko Municipality under the Kenya Slum Upgrading Programme (KENSUP). The Sustainable Neighbourhood Programme (SNP), a KENSUP pilot programme, advocates for the improvement of local governance and strengthening of the capacity and role of the informal and the low income communities in developing sustainable neighbourhoods. The main objective of the Mavoko Sustainable Neighbourhood Project (Mavoko SNP) is to create a neighbourhood of affordable and good quality housing for inhabitants relocated from informal settlements of the Nairobi Metropolitan Area (Nairobi and Mavoko areas). The project seeks to address the prevalent housing deficit and marginalization of low income and low-middle income people from the Nairobi metropolis. The main activities of the pre-development phase project are: (i) topographical survey (ii) to review and revise the draft master plan – designed by UN-Habitat; (iii) Submit Masterplan for Physical Planning Approval of Machakos County (iv) Outline Design (for master plan and building types) (v) Final Design and submission of building type designs for Building Permit approval (vi) Production Drawings (vii) Quantity Surveying (viii) Development of technical specifications for use in tender documents The project requires input of Architects, Physical Planners, Hydrogeologists, Geotechnical Engineers, Civil Engineers, Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing Engineers, Structural Engineers and Quantity Surveyors. UNON intends to contract a qualified firm for the subject requirement for a period of 6 months subject to satisfactory performance and related conditions. Interested vendors may forward their Expressions of Interest (EOI) along with the signed vendor forms to pdnairobi@unon.org. All EOI submissions should be sent via email, citing the EOI reference number and title in the subject line. UNON reserves the right to change or cancel the requirement of this EOI at any time during the EOI and/or solicitation process. Thus, submitting a reply to this REOI does not automatically guarantee your company will be considered for receipt of the solicitation when issued. Only Vendors which in UN's sole discretion are deemed eligible and qualified upon completion of an objective evaluation of their EOI submissions may receive the final tender solicitation documents.
