Description
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs is seeking a company based to provide climate updates with an overview of the inter-seasonal and intra-seasonal patterns as well as tropical cyclone outlooks outlining current tropical weather and the likelihood of weather hazards.
Part A - Hazardous Weather Advisories and Warnings
Tropical cyclone outlook to be issued three times a week (by Midday on Monday, Wednesday and Friday) outlining current tropical weather and the likelihood of weather hazards for the next three days.
Part B - Weekly Summary and Seven Day Outlook
Each Sunday evening to issue a weekly wrap up of recent events which would also include a summary of current or ongoing hazardous events. This summary would also include a 7 day outlook for the region both sides of the equator. This message should be sent by email and may include attachments such as graphics or video content.
Part C - Monthly Review and Seasonal Forecast for the next Three Months
to provide the Client with climate updates with an overview of the current inter-seasonal (ENSO and IOD) and intra-seasonal (Madden Julian Oscillation and Monsoon) patterns every month on the first day of the month.
Part D - Miscellaneous Services
- Tsunami alerts and warnings issued by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre and any other reputable agency shall be sent as email messages to recipients. First alerts and warnings to be issued no later than -20 minutes of issue. Subsequent alerts to be issued within 10 minutes of arrival.
- Telephone Briefings shall be provided to the Client as required whenever requested.
- Face to face briefings are to be available as required at the initiation of OCHA Fiji Office. These can be planned (e.g. PHP meeting) or unplanned (e.g. in real time during hazardous events).
