FOR THE PROVISION OF INFRASTRUCTURE-AS-A-SERVICE (IAAS) CLOUD HOSTING SERVICES

Background

The UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) is requesting proposals for Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) cloud hosting services.

The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to establish a Long-Term Framework Agreement for IaaS Cloud Hosting Services with qualified IaaS Cloud Hosting Service Providers.

This RFP describes specific IaaS services that are required for Respondents to participate in the RFP.  These services are minimum services to be provided.  Each Respondent to this RFP may provide description of other closely related services that they wish to provide, as well as pricing information for these and other services. 

Flexibility and Scalability: UNHCR has a large number of IT application servers and operates in a dynamic environment where new applications need to be established rapidly and at minimum overhead cost.  A Cloud IaaS Service Provider with the ability to scale both up and down in computing, storage, and telecommunications resources is more responsive to the needs of the Organization’s key stakeholders.

Project objectives

The objectives of this RFP is to identify Cloud IaaS Service Providers who can meet the needs of UNHCR over a long term by providing flexible and scalable hosting services, cost efficiency, high availability, and technical excellence.
