UNICEF VIETNAM is looking for a qualified creative communication institution to develop and produce an educational board games on climate change and hygiene promotion for primary school students.

Summary of the Assignment

Title: Children board game (*) development and production institutional consultant

Purpose: To develop and produce an educational board games on climate change and hygiene promotion for primary school students

Type of contract: Lumpsum contract

Location: Ha Noi and with number of field visits

Duration: 4 months

Start Date: November, 2016

Reporting to:C4D Specialist

* Note: A board game is a tabletop game that involves counters or pieces moved or placed on a pre-marked surface or board, according to a set of rules.

 

The creative communications institution should have:

-Ability and proven experience in crafting in developing and producing creative communication products for children.

- Relevant experience to Viet Nam’s context, working with children in rural, ethnic minority areas as well as other groups of disadvantaged children.

- Qualified staff with higher education degree level in the field of creative design, and a minimum of ten years of relevant professional experience

-Availability of technical equipment for creative concepts and execution.

-Ability and proven experience crafting messages and products in various formats targeting children.

-Ability and proven experience in multi-tasking, in taking initiative and working effectively under tight deadlines.

-Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills (capacity to deliver in English and Vietnamese is required).

- Working experience, and knowledge on climate change, life-saving behaviours promotion in emergencies are is assets.

 

Purpose: The objective of the developing and producing games is to equip children with knowledge, internalize a better understanding of appropriate behaviours on climate change and hygiene promotion through playing the board games. Beside the educational purpose, the criteria of creativity, friendly-using and self-learning are required in designing and developing the board games.

The institution needs to hand over to UNICEF with full copyrights the model of 2 board games which can be used for mass production:

-Standard materials (plastic, paper, wood, etc.);

-Standard sizes, colours, parts, etc.;

-Production and using manual.

The institution needs produce at least 200 copies per each of board game for UNICEF (total 400 copies of 2 board games). However, the number of copies of board games produced will be based on the actual needs and allocated budget.
