Storage Hardware
It is anticipated that the International Criminal Court (hereafter referred to as the ICC) located in The Hague, The Netherlands, will shortly be issuing a solicitation for the provision of Storage Hardware. In this connection, the ICC is requesting expression of interest from qualified firms.
Brief Scope of Work of Storage Hardware
The International Criminal Court has implemented a high definition digital video recording system to capture all the Court proceedings and this recording are to be stored and retained for a minimum of 50 years for archive purposes. Going forward, our primary storage solution will not be suitable for the store this material, therefore a need for a more effective yet high performing storage is required to accommodate forecast data growth. In addition to the high definition videos, the Court will be implementing a full archiving storage solution that can accommodate both the videos and all other data generated by the court which requires long retention obligations.
Court expects to generate an estimate of 120TB of data per year and all these data are expected to be kept at different retention periods ranging from 10, 25, 50 and above years. Due to the high sensitivity of these data, only “on-premise” storage solution that can be easily and cheaply scaled up without compromising performance can fulfil this requirement.
- Be able to grow over the years and without the need of completely renewing the entire hardware environment.
Solution to be offered
As described in the Introduction, ICC is looking for solution that can archive massive amounts of data and still have the data available online or near online. A storage solution that is transparent to operation, a solution that supports all storage protocol and the price per GB is in line with current industry standards.
