Description
1.0 United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) intends to solicit proposal for the Provision of Cafeteria Services to UNAMI Headquarters in Kheitan, Kuwait. 2.0 The Contractor shall serve an average of 25 customers (international and locally recruited staff) one to two meals a day of which the main meal (lunch) must be a combination variety of international and national (Halal) dishes. The number of customers that will visit the Cafeteria will vary depending on the quality/cost with expected numbers to be at the highest during lunch hours. There will not be any guarantee of minimum strength but the number of international/national staff working daily at the compound is approximately 100. It is solely up to the Contractor to provide good substantial quality food products with reasonable costing in order to entice UN customers. 3.0 The Contractor shall provide cafeteria services on cost-profit basis. The Contractor shall charge customers in accordance with an established price list (menu), which shall be subject to negotiation between the contractor and the UN on products and prices. Customers shall purchase their items in cash Kuwaiti Dinars. The range of cafeteria services shall include the provision of light meals, hot and cold food items, including snacks, hot and cold beverages, desserts, and fresh baked products, e. g, pies, pastries, bread rolls and cakes from reputable sources. 5.0 Regular hours of operation shall be between 08:00 hours through 16:00 Hours Five (5) days a week (Sunday through Thursday) except on official holidays. Extended hours of operation may be approved as appropriate, including operations on Friday and Saturday may be requested by the customers, as/if required basis. In such case the Contractor will have to be notified, at least two (2) working days in advance. 6.0 UNAMI intends to establish a contract for initial period of one (1) year with an option of extension for additional four (4) years (one year at a time) subject to satisfactory performance and extension of the UNAMI financial mandate. 7.0 For this purpose, UNAMI will undertake a competitive bidding exercise shortly, accordingly would issue a tender to those companies who would express their interest and provide initial relevant information as to their ability to fulfill UNAMI’s requirement. In addition, the interested Companies should complete a UNGM Registration at level 1 or above. 8.0 Please note on the following: • This EOI is not an invitation to submit a quotation/proposal. • UNAMI reserves the right in selecting the invitees for the competitive bidding based on substantial and proven records of performance in the subject field of activities and mere expressing an interest would not automatically warrant for tender document. • UNAMI reserves the right to reject EOIs received after the above deadline.
