Description
The Main Cafeteria is the largest on-site catering facility at the United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON). The facility serves staff members, visitors and meeting participants and is located in the central area of UNON. There are over 3,500 people working at the UN Compound in Gigiri. In addition, the UN receives more than 20,000 delegates throughout the year. The facility serves breakfast, lunch, hot and cold beverages and assorted snacks UNON seeks Expression of Interest (EOI) from suitably qualified and experienced caterers and restaurant groups. The caterer will be expected to perform the following tasks: 1) Manage breakfast and lunch service from Monday – Friday, ensuring an adequate mix of high-end and value meals, with an emphasis on budget friendly, healthy and organic produce. 2) Manage 5 coffee stations located around the compound. 3) Maintain a wide assortment of snacks and ready-to eat light meals at all outlets. 4) Manage the Terrace Coffee Shop, operating Monday – Friday, weekday evenings and Saturdays, which provides a wide selection of hot and cold beverages as well as snacks from Monday through Saturday. 5) Oversee a kiosk, which provides newspapers, magazines, airtime credit and other convenience items. 6) Provide ad-hoc conferencing coffee breaks, as and when required. Vendors expressing interest should be: 1) In operation for at least two (2) years. 2) Currently operating and managing at least one (1) well established restaurant, catering to over 300 seated multi-cultural / international customers. 3) Able to demonstrate strong capacity to do bulk catering offering international and local cuisine on a daily basis. 4) Possessing the relevant customer service skills and up-to-date hygiene standards. 5) Having proven track record supported by documented evidence or formal reference. All EOI submissions should bear the EOI Reference number and title in the subject line. Additional details of this requirement will be provided in the solicitation documents that will be released following this EOI. UNON reserves the right to change or cancel the requirement of this EOI at any time during the EOI and/or solicitation process. Submitting a reply to this REOI does not therefore automatically guarantee that your company will be considered for issuance of the solicitation documents.
