Description
1. The United Nations intends to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) seeking long term cargo air transportation services utilising rotary wing aircraft with medium to heavy lift capability in support of peace-keeping operations in South Sudan (UNMISS). 2. Without obligation, it is envisaged that UNMISS will over the next year carry by rotary-wing medium and heavy lift, approximately 6000 tons of bulk cargo (palletised food rations, fuel in drums etc) and 230 units of large/unassemleable equipment, such as APC’s and other vehicles, construction equipment, ISO sea-containers). UNMISS does not allow under-sling operations due to operational environment. 3. When issued, the RFP will provide details of estimated quantities, frequencies and types of cargos to be carried by rotary wing, location of HLS, etc., and proposals will be sought from Operators on how this can best be reliably and economically transported by rotary winged aircraft. 4. For companies that are not yet fully registered as Flight Service Vendors with the UN Secretariat, eligibility criteria for participating in the upcoming RFP exercise are as follows: i. Registration at Level 1. For more information please visit https://www.un.org/Depts/ptd/vendors/vendor-registration-0, ii. Submit a copy of a valid Air Operator Certificate (including Operations Specifications) to be provided by email attached to this EOI Response. iii. Submit Level 2 registration application and all documents required to register as Flight Service Vendors to the UN Procurement Division no later than the closing date of the upcoming RFP. For more information on the registration process, please visit our webiste at https://www.un.org/Depts/ptd/aviation, or contact the Vendor Registration and Management Team at register@un.org. 5. New vendors will need to complete their registration as Flight Service Vendors with the UN in order to be considered for a contract award.
