Description

UNCTAD is currently using a statistical software that was developed in the 1960s and that has been maintained since then.

UNCTAD is now reviewing the market to determine other potential software systems that could potentially provide them with a similar solution, including the main strengths of the current system, such as the ability to address extremely large data volumes and its well-known statistical software language.

The current system has been extensively used as a part of the regular automated statistical processing activities of Development Statistics and Information Branch (DSIB) of UNCTAD for more than 20 years.

Any replacement system must enable UNCTAD technicians to use the technology to acquire external data, detect and clean outliers, estimate missing data and compile complex statistical indicators.

The software will be used by national and international statistical organisations and universities. It must offer a user-friendly interface allowing statisticians with no programming background to automate complex data processing.

Companies that believe they can provide a suitable solution should submit their response to this RFI including details of their system and provide a website address where information on such system is available.
