United Nations Procurement Division is seeking suitably qualified companies for the provision of structural engineering services to be provided to the Facilities Management Service of the UN on an on-call basis. The services will be used in connection with projects in commercially leased properties as well as projects located in the UN Headquarters Campus in New York City. The requirement for structural engineering consultancy services will include the following: a. Providing site visits and estimating engineering works b. Providing design solutions and detailed construction drawings for Building Permit c. Other Specialist consultancy services (to include but, may not be limited to: permit/code review, load calculations, specifications, inspections and value engineering). It is anticipated that an appointment will be made of a single company to coordinate with the UN and with a multidisciplinary lead architectural company to provide accurate and timely services. General Requirements: Vendors will be expected to demonstrate: a. a minimum of ten (10) years experience in providing structural design consultancy services on an on-call basis. b. experience of at least three (3) similar appointments for projects with scope relevant to the envisaged UN projects (to include reference name/point of contact). In particular UN will seek experience of design appointments related to: i. high security areas/buildings ii. commercial/office space iii. specialty work - garage, promenade, bridge repair work, roof leaks, slab loading and special events (eg: temporary attachments to slabwork, stage set up, display embeds). Vendors' reference projects must demonstrate a single appointment to coordinate with a lead Architecture / Design and MEP Engineering as a minimum. c. local representation (upon or following appointment) to enable prompt reponse to urgent project requirements.
