The United Nations (UN) Department of Operational Support Triangular Partnership Programme (TPP) ,with support from the United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON), plans to conduct training courses on Heavy Engineering Equipment (HEE) operation at the Humanitarian Peace Support School (HPSS), Embakasi-Nairobi, Kenya to enhance the enabling capabilities of Troop Contributing Countries for peacekeeping. The United Nations is seeking expressions of interest for the provision of Heavy Engineering Equipment (HEE) and support vehicles, on a rental basis. The equipment and vehicles to be rented will be operated by UN - coordinated military training teams and trainees, under supervision. The equipment and vehicles required are a motor grader, wheel loader, crawler bulldozer, self-propelled vibratory roller, hydraulic excavator, dump trucks and a truck tractor with semi-trailer lowbed. The rental will be on an “on call” or “as needed” basis and the Long Term Agreement (LTA) is envisaged for the duration of up to four (4) years (2+1+1), with the expectation to commence in 2026. There is no minimum rental period and quantity. The actual requirements will be confirmed in writing to the successful vendor(s) before the start of the training. The equipment to be rented are the following: 1. Motor Grader •Quantity required - Maximum 2 Units •General purpose motor grader for general use in road construction with enclosed cabin and over head protection ROPS or FOPS. •Operating weight: 12500KG - 18500KG •Age - up to seven (7) years (from date of manufacture). 2. Crawler Hydraulic •Quantity required - maximum 1 Unit • General purpose tracked hydraulic excavator for use in construction and engineering projects, enclosed cabin with over head protection ROPS or FOPS. •Operating weight:18000KG - 24500KG (without attachments). •Age - up to seven (7) years (from date of manufacture). 3. Hydraulic Excavator •Quantity required - maximum 1 Unit •General purpose tracked hydraulic excavator for use in construction and engineering projects, enclosed cabin with over head protection ROPS or FOPS. •Operating weight:18,000KG - 24,500 KG (with two (2) attachments). •Age - up to six (7) years (from date of manufacture). 4. Bucket Loader •Quantity required - maximum 2 Units •General purpose all wheel drive loader for general use in construction and engineering projects, enclosed cabin with over head protection ROPS or FOPS. •Operating weight: 17500KG - 22500KG •Age - up to seven (7) years (from date of manufacture). 5. Crawler Bulldozer •Quantity required - maximum 2 Units •General purpose medium size, tracked/crawler bulldozer for general use in construction and engineering projects, enclosed cabin with over head protection ROPS or FOPS. •Operating weight: 18000KG - 23000KG •Age - up to seven (7) years (from date of manufacture). 6. Dump Truck •Quantity required - maximum 2 Units •Standard non-articulated dump truck intended for service in the harshest of environments, capable of carrying loads of soil, sand, etc. •Bucket Size/Capacity: 10 - 12 cubic meters •Age - up to seven (7) years (from date of manufacture). 7. Self-propelled vibratory roller soil compactor •Quantity required - maximum 2 Units •General purpose vibratory soil compactor for general use in construction and engineering projects, single drum with rubber tyres at rear, cabin with overhead protection ROPS or FOPS. •Operating weight: 10000KG - 15000KG •Age - up to seven (7) years (from date of manufacture). 8. Truck Tractor with semi - trailer lowbed •Quantity required - maximum 1 Unit •General Purpose truck tractor designed primarily for drawing semi-trailers and trailers ( to be provided together with the semi-trailer lowbed). Lowbed should have outriggers and standing legs. •Payload capcity: 20000KG - 40000KG •Age - up to seven (7) years (from date of manufacture). Subsequent to the closing date of this EOI, UNON anticipates to issue a formal solicitation document to potential companies who have expressed interest to provide the services in accordance with the requirements that will be fully specified in the solicitation document. The complete details of qualification requirements will be provided in the solicitation document. Notes: 1. Diesel Engine: Normal aspiration or turbo charged, water cooled and direct injection type in compliance with the Kenyan national environmental emission regulations/standards. 2. All HEE and vehicles must comply with Kenya transport regulations and not be older than 7 years from date of manufacture. 3. Attachments for Hydraulic Excavator – hydraulic hammer (rock breaker): Working weight: 800 -950kg; demolition and sorting grapple: working weight: 1000 –1500 kg. Specific Requirements/Information IMPORTANT: Please note that this REOI is not an invitation for submission of tenders. Its purpose is to identify companies that would be interested and eligible to participate in the solicitation when issued. Interested vendors must possess the necessary technical expertise and capacity to provide the required services, as only suitably qualified vendors will be invited to participate in the tender. Please refer to Annex A for the eligibility criteria. Interested vendors are required to express their interest as follows: a) via the link in UNGM provided at the Vendor Response section of the EOI, and b) Submit the filled out self declaration form attached as Annex A of this EOI and the requested supporting infromation via email to unon-procurement-rfx@un.org keeping in copy rosemary.njerimuiru@un.org. UNON reserves the right to change or cancel the requirement at any time during the EOI and/or solicitation process. Thus, submitting a reply to this Request for EOI does not automatically guarantee your company will be considered for receipt of the solicitation when issued. Vendors that are deemed qualified upon completion of an objective evaluation of their EOI submission will receive the final tender solicitation documents.
