Supply and Delivery of Reinforcement and Structural Steel to UN.

1. The UN in Entebbe, Uganda intends to establish a long term contract for the supply and delivery of reinforncement and structural steel items on an "as and when required basis".The aniticipated contract will be for an initial period of one (1) year with the option to extend for two (2) one-year periods at its sole discretion. 2. The UN is encouraging vendors that can meet the dynamic supply chains requirements that are reliable, responsive, agile and cost effective to express interest in participating in the solicitation exercise with a view to provide fast delivery response time to UN. 3. Below are estimated annual requirements while actual requirements will be reflected on each purchase order issued. Items shall comply with the below or equivalent international standards. Group 1 Reinforcement Items, Grade B500A, B500B, B500C; 1a. Deformed bars. BS4449, hot-rolled, BS4449, EN 10080 with diameters 6mm-20mm and length 12m = 15,000 pieces. 1b .Steel reinforcing mesh. 500 MPA, cold-rolled, BS4483, EN 10080 with different WxL and pitch sizes = 900 pieces. Group 2 Structural (Grade S235,S275, S355 or ASTM A36/A572 Gr50; preferred S355) and Other items; 2a. Angle Iron. BS EN 10025 ASTM A36/A572: 6mm long with different dimensions in mm = 11,400 pieces. 2b. Hollow section (rectangular and square). EN10210, BS EN 10219-1 or ASTM A500: 6m long with different dimensions ranging from 20x20x2mm to 100x100x6mm = 10,647 pieces. 2c.Steel Plates. ASTM A6/A6M = 200 pieces 2d. Square tubes. 6mm x 12mm Length = 500 pieces 2e. Hot Rolled I Beam Section. Preferred S355JR or S275JR minimum with BS 4-1:2005 & EN 100365:201 or ASTM A572 = 1,294 pieces. 2f.Steel Flat Bars. Grade 50 or S355JR with minimum yield strength approx.345-355 MPa with EN 10025, ASTM A572 or EN 10058, 65mmx5mmx6m = 200 pieces. 2g..Binding Wires. TS EN 10218 & ASTM A510 with 20 gauge (0.8mm) = 500 kgs. Specific Requirements/Information All interested are required to respond to this REOI regardless of earlier participation. Participation in the previously issued REOIs will NOT be considered. At the bidding stage, all participants will have to prove their capacity and competencies by providing the following, among others. a) Product Quality Certification as per the requirements. b) Proof of successful delivery of similar goods from clients e.g. positive reference letters, signed delivery documents etc which shall be corroborated by submitted executed contract and purchase order copies. c) 3 years experience in terms of similar supplies with details as corroborated by submitted executed contract and purchase order copies. d) Where bidder is not manufacturer, bidder shall provide certificate from the respective manufacturer/s certifying that the bidder is recognized as a supplier/distributor/importer. e) Logistical and transportation plan to include sources and alternative sources etc to meet the requirement. ONLY interested vendors that meet the above requirements and are registered in UNGM with relevant UNSPSC codes are encouraged to express interest. The details of the requirement will be included in the solicitation document to be issued after the closing of this REOI. Electronic response as guided below to this EOI is preferred. Please note that this request for expression of interest is not an invitation to submit a bid and submission of EOI would not automatically warrant receipt of solicitation documents.
