Description
The Office of Information and Communications Technology (OICT) invites vendors to express interest in providing digital wireless solutions and services, such as Wireless LAN (Wi-Fi) technologies, for deployment across United Nations Headquarters, Offices Away from Headquarters, and Field Missions. The required systems must support secure, reliable transmission of voice, video, and data through flexible and scalable configurations suited for low-, medium-, and high-capacity environments. UN field missions require robust, high-performance Wi-Fi solutions that enhance ICT networks by improving collaboration, flexibility, resilience, and cost-efficiency. Proposed solutions should offer scalable licensing, 24/7 reliability, strong security, and integration of emerging technologies, while supporting economies of scale, increasing QoS demands, evolving mission requirements, and centralized remote network management. Proposed solutions must be simple, secure, modular, interoperable, bandwidth-efficient, and fully scalable. They must support IPv4/IPv6, remote SNMPv3 management, QoS/CoS, centralized monitoring, and multiple deployment capacities. Systems must meet IP65 environmental standards, support global power requirements, incorporate advanced antennas, and provide mesh networking, fast roaming, and wireless backhaul. Indoor and outdoor access points must operate under a unified controller. Additional requirements include SDWN readiness, multi-tenant support, Azure AD/Active Directory authentication, and cloud-managed architectures with zero-touch provisioning. Vendors are expected to deliver comprehensive professional services, including site surveys, system design, installation, commissioning, maintenance, and ongoing technical support. Training must be able to deliver onsite, at designated UN service centers, or virtually. Vendors must be capable of providing post-sales support services such as professional advisory, asset management, advanced tarining and extended product support and warranties. Vendors must also be capable of delivering equipment to UN centers in Brindisi (Italy), Valencia (Spain), Entebbe (Uganda), as well as to UN Field Missions worldwide, supported by an efficient supply chain for deployment, maintenance, and equipment replacement. Vendors may propose updated or alternative technologies when appropriate. Please note that this is not an invitation for the submission of a bid and/or proposal. This is a Request for Expression of Interest (REOI) to identify the qualified vendors for participation in the solicitation. The full technical requirements and details will be provided with a formal solicitation document to be issued at a later stage, soon after the closing date for this EOI.
