The UNGSC requires a Contractor for the Provision of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 Surveillance & Recertification Audits at UNGSC locations in Brindisi - Italy and Valencia - Spain. DESCRIPTION OF THE REQUIREMENT: The United Nations Global Service Centre (UNGSC), with offices in Brindisi (Italy) and Valencia (Spain), solicits the services of a qualified company to conduct ISO14001:2015 and ISO 45001 surveillance and recertification audits at both locations, as follows: • UNGSC, Piazza del Vento, 1, 72100 Brindisi BR, Italy (GPS Coordinates 40.651795, 17.946953). UNGSC (Brindisi) is located within the Italian Air Force (ITAF) base with shared facilities. • UNICTF, Avenida Comarques del País Valencia 2, Quart De Poblet, 46930, Valencia, Spain (GPS Coordinates 39.478052, -0.485861). UNICTF (Valencia) has private facilities within the Valencia Airport. The UNGSC has held ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 certifications since 2016 and 2007 respectively, and in 2023 earned ISO 45001, reinforcing its commitment to high standards in Occupational Health and Safety. • Brindisi site: 368,209 m² with 58 buildings exclusively used by the UN, including warehouses, workshops, a clinic, and office/training buildings. Civilian personnel: 612. • Valencia site: 43,500 m² with 6 buildings exclusively used by the UN, including operational, cargo handling, access control, and dining facilities. Civilian personnel: 374. The Environmental Management System (EMS) at UNGSC includes the organizational structure, planning, responsibilities, procedures, and resources for implementing and maintaining its environmental policy. The OHSMS is integrated into daily operations to foster a safety culture and enhance cooperation between management and staff. Type and duration of service: • ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 Audits: Surveillance audits for 2026 and 2027, and a recertification audit for 2028, covering a three-year period. • Audits will be conducted annually at each location, with a duration ranging from 1.5 to 3.5 days. Preferred audit period: May–June, in line with past practice. • ISO 45001 Gap Analysis: To be conducted by the contractor to assess the current OHSMS, identify gaps, and recommend measures for full alignment with ISO 45001 standards. T he selected company must be accredited by a certification body that is a signatory to the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) Multilateral Recognition Arrangement (MLA). The company must be authorized to issue ISO 14001 Environmental Management System Certificates and ISO 45001 Occupational Health & Safety Management. Vendors with the attributes listed hereunder are strongly encouraged to participate: (a) Disability inclusive, (b) Demonstrated goal to achieve gender equality (c) Having status as a woman-owned business (d) From developing countries, countries with economies in transition and least developed countries. Vendors interested in participating must demonstrate the necessary technical expertise and capacity to deliver the required services, as only suitably qualified vendors will be invited to participate in the tender exercise. An Expression of Interest does not guarantee participation in the request for quotation, as only suitably qualified vendors will be invited to participate. Specific Requirements/Information The UNGSC will provide the full technical specifications and administrative instructions, along with a solicitation document to be issued at a later stage after the closing of this EOI. The Request for Expression of Interest (REOI) does not constitute a solicitation. The UNGSC reserves the right to change or cancel the requirements during the REOI and solicitation process. Thus, submitting a reply to this REOI does not automatically guarantee that your company will be considered for receipt of the solicitation documents when issued. Specific requirement (i.e., vendor level of registration): BASIC. All Vendors must be registered with the UN Secretariat through the United Nations Global Marketplace (UNGM) at the ‘Basic’ Level in UNGM to be invited to the RFQ.
