Voucher scheme for the provision of agricultural inputs in Sudan

This Call for Applications is issued to prequalify eligible suppliers of agricultural inputs who may be engaged by FAO under upcoming voucher-based assistance schemes in Sudan. Through this scheme, suppliers will provide agricultural inputs to beneficiaries in exchange for paper vouchers. Following the redemption of vouchers and reconciliation of transactions, suppliers will be reimbursed by FAO accordingly. The following categories of agricultural inputs are relevant to the current call for applications. Participating suppliers are expected to offer one or more of these categories. To improve clarity and facilitate targeted participation, agricultural inputs have been grouped into the following three Lots. Applicants may apply for one or more Lots. However, eligibility requirements, technical specifications, and evaluation will be Lot-specific: Lot 1 – Crop-Related Inputs: • Commercial cereal seeds: millet, maize, sorghum, wheat. • Legume seeds: cowpea, lentil, chickpea, faba bean, pigeon pea, common bean • Vegetable seeds: tomato, onion, okra, eggplant, pepper, snake cucumber, watermelon, pumpkin, radish, cabbage, green beans, jute mallow, rockett • Oilseeds: sesame, groundnut (peanut), sunflower, cottonseed • Fertilizers and hand tools Lot 2 – Livestock-Related Inputs: • Live animals: goats, sheep, cattle, chicken • Animal feed: manufactured feed, oilseed cake, mineral licks • Veterinary medicines: dewormers, antibiotics • Equipment and materials: feeders, waterers, shelter items Lot 3 – Fisheries-Related Inputs: For both inland freshwater and coastal marine fishing. Vendors may offer items adapted to either or both contexts: • Fishing gear: nets, lines, hooks • Bait and fish feed • Processing/storage tools: iceboxes, filleting knives.
