Description
The objective of this consultancy is to draft a short technical brief on fair recruitment of persons with disabilities with a specific focus on migrant workers.
The brief will be jointly supervised by GEDI and MIGRANT and serves as a first step to address disability inclusion consideration in the next FRI strategy. The technical brief will also serve as a basis to stimulate discussion during the upcoming global fair recruitment conference that will be organized by the ILO in May 2025.
The brief should at the minimum cover the following topics/issues:
- Overview of relevant international legal framework and guidance.
- Gaps in international guidance (i.e. GPOG) and how it could be filled.
- Current practices of recruitment of migrant workers with disabilities and challenges faced both in countries of origin and destination (although the main focus will be at destination).
- Promising practices of fair recruitment of migrants with disabilities and conditions for scaling them up.
- Recommendations on how the ILO could further support its constituents to ensure fair recruitment of migrant workers with disabilities. Launch of the Media Toolkit.
