Description
1.0 The United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) has a requirement to obtain the Security Awareness Induction Training (SAIT) which aims to develop security driven skills to prepare and enable UN staff members to undertake operations efficiently, and minimize operational risks encountered under the adverse security situation in Iraq. SAIT will consist of four-day training courses. The course will consist of intensive classroom instruction and practical field exercises for all personnel entering Iraq and will focus on:
(a) Changes and developments in the security situation in Iraq;
(b) Equipping trainees to identify and minimize operation risk to both themselves and their colleagues; and (c) Equipping trainees to respond to emergencies and security threats in a prescribed manner.
2.0 Interested Vendors should be able to conduct training to UN Staff that will enable them to react to security risk scenarios they may experience in Iraq. Specific attention will be given to the trainees’ ability to use and operate communications equipment. Trainees will manage adverse scenes and assist in various scenarios. Special attention will be given to realistic practical First Aid scenarios. In the field exercise, each trainee will experience simulated security situations they may experience in Iraq to be better able to understand the reasoning behind security applications and how to work within these security guidelines.
4.0 The qualified instructors must have university degree in security management, social sciences, international studies, law, or alternatively an equivalent combination of relevant training and field experience. Instructors must have minimum five years experience, working in security management systems, law enforcement and/ or the military disciplines preferably with international experience; Training Provider will have a minimum of four qualified instructors for every course being conducted.
5.0 The contract shall be engaged for one year with the option to extend at UNAMI’s discretion under the same terms and conditions for (two) additional one year periods at a time (1+1+1).
6.0 For this purpose, UNAMI will undertake a competitive bidding exercise shortly, accordingly would issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) to those companies who would express their interest and provide initial relevant information as to their ability to fulfill UNAMI’s requirement. In addition, the interested Companies will be requested to complete a UNAMI Vendor Registration Form (New Vendors Only). To obtain this form, please contact UNAMI as above.
7.0 The solicitation will be based on a detailed Statement of Works, UN General Conditions of Contracts and other related documents which will be provided by UNAMI to all companies who respond to this EOI and qualify for the tender.
8.0 Please note on the following:
a) This EOI is not an invitation for submission of a proposal.
b) UNAMI reserves the right in selecting the invitees for the competitive bidding based on substantial and proven records of performance in the subject field of activities and mere expressing an interest would not automatically warrant for tender document.
c) UNAMI reserves the right to reject EOI's received after the above deadline.

i. Capability to provide 10% of Contract price as a Performance Bond.
ii. Business presence in the Country
iii. Duly completed UNAMI or UNPS/UNGM Vendor Registration Formalities.
iv. Duly completed and signed Pre-Qualification questionnaire and the Vendor Response Form.
Note: Proof of Documents must be submitted as part of technical requirements upon receipt of the Invitation to bid.
