Drilling operation of Seven(7) productive wells in Wad Sharifey Wad Sharifey refugee camp Fediab village. (Kassala, Sudan).

Purpose of Assignment

Drilling of 7 deep water borehole for the construction of water supply facilities (Water yards and mini - water yards) and distribution systems to improve access to basic water supply for 56,628 people (24,213 refugees and 32,415 host communities) in Wad Sharifey. Wad Sharifey refugee camp Fediab village locality , Kassala state, with intention to create a conducive environment for peaceful coexistence between the host community and refugees

The specific objectives of the contract are.

To drill seven (7) boreholes to the required depth and specifications as per the hydro-geophysical assessment recommendations.

To drill the boreholes as per BoQs , designs and established standard specified in the drilling contracts for the construction of water distribution systems.

Chemical, Physical and bacteriological analyses and protection of the BHs. Clean environment from the drilling and construction remains or any hazard related. The drilling works contractor shall adhere to implementing the listed Management, Mitigation and Enhancement Measures (see Annex 1 for ESMP) to the best of their capacity and in close coordination with relevant authorities and stakeholders.

Scope of work

The contract comprises the provision of all staff, labour, plant, power, materials, and consumables to carry out the drilling and the completion of seven wells around Wad Sharifey, including (but not restricted to) the following:

Erection of all temporary accommodation, stores and sanitation facilities for the contractor’s staff and other labour employed on the contract.

Drilling of seven (7)production boreholes with a final drilling diameter of at least 14” and final depths ranging from 50 to 60 m below ground level or as per site conditions.

Construction of seven production wells with a nominal diameter of 10”;

Performance of pumping tests and capping.

Performance report of adjacent boreholes during pump testing exercise of nearby boreholes. (further details in the attached TOR).
