Description
The United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), is seeking expressions of Interest (EOI) from qualified companies who can provide Technology Upgrades in the United Nations Conference Center (UNCC) Conference Room One (CR1) and Conference Room Two (CR2). The tasks are to be implemented in two packages. Package One (01): Bilders work and cabling project It refers to the Supply and installation of a complete power and data cabling distribution system (underfloor, in-wall, and in-ceiling) to all of the required positions in both Conference Rooms (CR1 and CR2) and adjacent secondary support rooms. This project also requires the supply and installation of all the power and data cables with distribution, connections, and terminations throughout. The objective is to engage a contractor among others to do the following work: a) Demolition_Demolition, including strip out of some of the existing Conference Technology Systems and ICT services b) Structural_ Structural works to support new equipment and systems c) Building Services_ Additional building services including electrical, IT, AV, conference facilities, and mechanical systems d) Interiors, fixtures, and furniture_ New partitions, joinery, ceilings, and floor finishes and the refurbishment and reuse of existing furniture e) Communications_ Backbone Fibre and copper cabling _ Horizontal fiber and copper cabling and field cabling _ Equipment racks including vertical and horizontal cable management, Power supplies, and the like _ Uninterrupted power supplies _ Earthing and grounding systems; and _ Cabling containment and reticulation systems Package Two (02): Audio Equipment Supply and Installation (CR1 And CR2) Package two describes works requiring the supply and installation of a complete Taiden conference management simultaneous interpretation system (CMSI- audio) with supporting CISCO hardware in conference rooms one and two. This scope includes the design verification, supply, installation, testing, commissioning, placing into service, and maintenance and defects rectification of the Conference Technology Services for the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa in Addis Ababa – Ethiopia. The objective is to engage a contractor among others to do the following work: A. New services include a) Conference Room 1 (CR1) multimedia paperless conference system including simultaneous interpretation, discussion, voting, messaging, listening, and conference management and control system. b) Conference Room 1 (CR1) Podium IR wireless language distribution system c) Conference Room 2 (CR2) multimedia paperless conference system including simultaneous d) Conference Room 2 (CR2) Podium IR wireless language distribution system interpretation, discussion, voting, messaging, listening, and conference management and control system. B. Integration of the new conferencing system to the existing services including: a) Video processing and distribution and display system b) Audio processing and distribution system c) Recording and network streaming system d) Building-wide digital signage system e) IPTV system f) Video conferencing equipment g) Integration of all systems onto a Broadcast Local Area Network (BLAN) h) Coordination with Cisco with respect to the deployment an implementation of the BLAN The United Nations is operating similar conferencing facilities in different places, including its Headquarters in New York and Geneva. Therefore, in order to standardize the use of various ICT, conferencing, and audio-visual systems, the principal concept recently implemented at United Nations Headquarters in New York and Geneva will be used as a guideline. Companies expressing interest should note that this Request for Expression of Interest (REOI) serves as a pre-qualification of the companies that will be invited to participate in the tender process. Interested firms will be invited to the tender by "Request for Proposal -RFP" at a later stage and the detailed requirement will be further specified in the RFP document. UNECA reserves the right to change or cancel the requirements at any time during the EOI/ or solicitation process. Thus, submitting a reply to this EOI does not automatically guarantee that your company will be considered for receipt of the solicitation when issued. The RFP and any subsequent commitment to contract will be issued in accordance with UN rules and regulations. UNECA is precluded from entering into contract with a vendor that is not registered with United Nations Global Market Place(UNGM). Thus, only those vendors who are registered or provisionaly registered or have started their registration process in UNGM will be eligible to receive the solicitation document RFP. Those interested in responding to this EOI but not currently registered as vendors with UNGM, are encouraged to register before submission date for closing of the EOI in the United Nations Global Market Place (UNGM). The successful bidder will be required to register in UNGM at Level 2 before the Contract award.
