Description
The UN is seeking a Service Provider with an extensive network of laboratories accredited to perform testing for food matrix requirements. The laboratories shall be accredited with certifications ISO/IEC 17025 and perform laboratory analyses in accordance with CODEX guidelines CAC/GL 27-1997. As required in the CODEX guidelines, only laboratories which have proven their proficiency to perform analysis on the food matrices by participating in Proficiency Testing schemes (PT) shall be considered for this RFP. The Service Provider's laboratory network must have at least one (1) laboratory in each of the following geographical regions: North and Central America; South America; Europe: Eastern Europe: Africa; Southern Africa; Central Asia; Western Asia; Southern Asia; Eastern Asia and Southeastern Asia; Australia and New Zealand. With the intent of validating the UN's Contracts Quality Management System, or any other aspects of food-related UN Contracts (food rations, catering, post-exchange and Combat Rations Packs contracts), the Service Provider shall be required to perform the following services: a. Food inspection - Laboratory services - including but not limited to: microbiological, chemical, quality, physical, authenticity, nutritional, and contaminants testing; b. Contaminants Management Services - submission of Analytical Scope of testing for contaminants such as metals and inorganic substances, natural toxins, environmental contaminants, pesticides, and veterinary drug residues; c. Consulting Services - tailored consulting and advisory services in relation to managing food fraud, preparation of general standards related to contaminants and improvement of food inspection processes; d. Auditing services - ensuring compliance by UN contractors with the UN Rations Standards
