Construction of New Irrigation Canal in AlBoHjaim Area, Samawa, AlMuthana Governorate, Iraq

1.0 United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) on behalf of United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) Iraq Programme, seeks the interest of qualified contractors to participate in an upcoming tender solicitation for the "Construction of New Irrigation Canal in AlBoHjaim Area, Samawa, AlMuthana Governorate, Iraq ". 2.0 The solicitation will be based on detailed Statement of Works (SoW), Bill of Quantities (BoQ), Technical Specifications, UN General Conditions of Contracts and other related documents which will be provided by UNAMI to all companies who respond to this EOI and qualify for the tender. 3.0 The following activities/works are to be provided by the successful bidder: • Levelling works for the new canal route • Excavation works for the new canal • Removal of the debris and replacing of the soil if needed • Levelling works and compacting of the canal base and sides • Sealing of the canal base and sides with clay to reduce water permeability • Construction of the canal shoulders as per the required levels 4.0 For this purpose, UNAMI will undertake a competitive bidding exercise shortly, accordingly would issue a Tender to those companies who would express their interest and provide initial relevant information as to their ability to fulfill UNAMI's requirement. 5.0 In addition, the interested companies are requested to complete their registration at Level-2 on the United Nations Global Marketplace (www.ungm.org). 6.0 Please note the following: a) This EOI is not an invitation for submission of a bid/proposal. b) UNAMI reserves the right in selecting the invitees for the competitive bidding based on substantial and proven records of performance in the subject field of activities and mere expressing an interest would not automatically warrant for tender document. c) UNAMI reserves the right to reject EOIs received after the above deadline. 7.0 TECHNICAL PRE-QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: The interested companies have capability to meet the below technical requirements (7.1 - 7.6): 7.1 Bidders must attend the site visit and pre-bid meeting of the solicitation. 7.2 Bidder must provide a copy of the company’s registration certificate in Iraq. 7.3 Bidder must provide a valid business license (in construction) from the Ministry of Planning. 7.4 Bidder must submit latest 3 consecutive years; audited/certified financial statements. 7.5 Bidder must submit a list of minimum 2 completed similar projects performed within the last 5 years. 7.6 Duly completed United Nations Global Marketplace (UNGM) vendor registration formalities at Level-2. Note 1: Duly completed and signed EOI Pre-Qualification Questionnaire and signed Vendor Response Form (attached). UNAMI reserves the right to change or cancel the requirement of this EOI at any time during the EOI and/or solicitation process. Submitting a response to this EOI does not therefore automatically guarantee that your company will be considered for issuance of the solicitation documents. Only vendors who in the UN's sole discretion, are deemed eligible and qualified, upon completion of an objective evaluation of the EOI submissions may receive the final tender solicitation documents. In addition, the interested Companies will be requested to complete a UNGM Registration at Basic Level or above.
