Overview:
The United Nations (UN) intends to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the provision of mine clearance teams that will implement innovative and proven solutions in the operational context of Sudan and South Sudan to support the UN efforts to increase the clearance of explosive hazards and assess routes throughout the UN Area of Responsibility. The RFP shall result in a long term contract with a capabale company to provide the following key services:
Component A: Permanent teams for the duration of the contract
● Two (02) Integrated Route Assessment and Clearance Teams (IRACT)
Two Integrated Route Assessment and Clearance Teams (IRACT), one IRACT with a heavy mechanical clearance element (anti-tank mines as well as anti-personnel mines) as well as one IRACT with a light/ medium mechanical clearance element (anti-tank as well as anti-personnel mines) element, can conduct rapid route assessments, road, battle area, and mine clearance in the UNISFA AOR (JBVMM AOR inclusive) as required and tasked.
● Four (04) Patrol Support Teams (PST)
Component B: Surge teams, subject to the operational needs and funding:
● Two (02) Patrol Support Teams (PST)
To meet the changing mission environment and to fulfil future requests from UNMAS Abyei, the contractor will provide two Surge Patrol Support Teams ( PST) with identical capacity and capability as the permanent PST.
