Provision of Gardening and Landscaping maintenance Services

DESCRIPTION OF REQUIREMENTS The United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) , is seeking for exprersssions of Interest (EOIs) from qualified companies who can provide Gardening and Landscaping maintenance Services for UNECA, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. As part of the ongoing routine Gardening maintenance in the premises of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), the Facility Management Section (FMS) of UNECA is seeking to establish a Five-Year Long-Term Agreement (LTA) with an experienced contractor to take care of the grasses, plants, and trees in the UNECA compound. The objective of this bid is to engage a Service Provider to provide Gardening and Landscaping Maintenance Services for UNECA. This includes the area around the ECA Secretarial building, UN conference center, Zambezi building and the compound of the executive secretary’s residence. In addition, ECA also wants the contractor to provide rates for gardening materials like soils and manures based on call demand and labor rate for activities that are not covered under this scope of work, and which could be demanded All garden areas to be covered by the contract are as follows: ECA Secretariat building area: 23,000 square meters UN Conference Centre area: 8,723 square meters Zambezi Area: 8,000 square meters Executive Secretary’s residence: 2,000 square meters The maintenance services to be performed by the Contractor shall include, but are not limited to the following: • Maintenance of turf and ground cover areas, performing grass mowing, edging. • Removal of litter and debris from turf, planter beds, fence lines and street curbs • Pruning of trees and shrubs • Application of chemical agents for control of weeds, plant diseases and insects that are harmful for plant growth • Replacement of plant material and Inspection of the irrigation systems • Maintain the health and appearance of existing landscape plants, trees, shrubs, groundcovers and lawn area. • Use environment friendly products and has to ensure all materials are ecofriendly • Respond to all emergencies • Perform all work in a professional skillful manner using quality equipment and materials. The successful bidder(s) will be contracted toprovide the Services as specified under the Scope of Work to be provided along with the bid document. Companies expressing interest should note that this Request for Expression of Interest (REOI) serves as pre-qualification of the companies that will be invited to participate in the tender process .Intrested firms will be invited to the tender by "Request for Proposal -RFP" at later stage and the detail requirement will be further specfied in the RFP document. UNECA reserves the right to change or cancel the requirements at any time during the EOI/ or solicitation process. Thus, submitting a reply to this EOI does not automatically guarantee that your company will be considered for receipt of the solicitation when issued. The RFP and any subsequent commitment to contract will be issued in accordance with UN rules and regulations. UNECA is precluded from entering into contract with a vendor that is not registered with United Nations Global Market Place(UNGM). Thus, only those vendors who are registered or provisionaly registered or have started their registration process in UNGM will be eligible to receive the solicitation document RFP. Those interested in responding to this EOI but not currently registered as vendors with UNGM, are encouraged to register before submission date for closing of the EOI in the United Nations Global Market Place (UNGM).
