Description
The World Urban Forum (WUF) is the premier global conference on sustainable urbanization. The WUF was established by the United Nations in 2001 to examine one of the most pressing issues facing the world: rapid urbanization and its impact on communities, cities, economies and climate change. Convened by the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), the forum is a unique non-legislative platform and one of the most inclusive international gatherings on urban issues. The WUF12 will take place from 4 – 8 November 2024 in Cairo, Egypt. It will be an opportunity to hold global discussions around sustainable urbanization through sharing of knowledge and best practices as well as to share Egypt’s urban experience, including establishing new cities and the development of informal areas. The WUF programme has the following objectives: • Reaffirm the WUF as the premier world conference on sustainable urbanization with UN-Habitat as convener and facilitator. • To provide an open, inclusive, and diverse platform where all stakeholders of the New Urban Agenda and the UN-Habitat mandate contributes to transformative change in urban policy, governance, and the advancement of human rights. •To convene and foster collective knowledge, innovative critical thinking, and thought leadership across all stakeholder types in human settlements and the urban development field. •To increase cooperation and forge constructive partnerships to mainstream sustainable urbanisation in national development policies, local level development plans and private sector investments. B) Concept brief: Based on the above objectives, the WUF secretariat considers it necessary to obtain professional services for a media and promotion campaign for the World Urban Forum 12 including evergreen product development for WUF intersessional periods. The campaign should refine the story and products of the WUF to position and promote the brand while tying it tightly with UN-Habitat and achieve the proposed strategy objectives. C) Services required: • Definition of the WUF story, and dissemination channels for the targeted groups. • Development and execution of the promotion and media engagement strategy including social media campaign. • Development of media products that would fulfill the project objectives including but not limited to social media, graphics, videography, interviews, podcasts, articles and written content. • Provision of resources to support the execution of the campaign. D) Languages: All content for the WUF12 should be produced in English and Arabic. All evergreen content for the WUF intersessional periods to be produced in English. The complete details of the requirement will be provided in the tender documents that will be issued to bidders after this request for EOI is closed.
