Description

In 2015, UNAIDS Myanmar initiated developing the community system strengthening strategy in close collaboration with National Community Networks in Myanmar working in the field of HIV and AIDS. This is to present a roadmap for strengthening community systems in Myanmar, specifically regarding the role of community networks in achieving the targets set out in the National Strategic Plan on HIV/AIDS in Myanmar at that time. Consensus was reached that this strategy is required to review and revise to be in line with the latest NSP IV as well as Global Strategy on AIDS. To do this, UNAIDS Myanmar is looking for a short-term national consultant with the objectives of 1) to review and reflect on the accomplishment of the 2015 CSS strategy and the period beyond, 2) to learn the CSS strategies and community-led initiatives that are promoted at the global and regional level, and the outcomes expected in Myanmar HIV NSP IV (2021-25), 3) to prioritize and develop the community action plan with measurable results and timeline to achieve Myanmar HIV NSP IV considering the opportunities, limitations, and challenges faced. This consultancy is a local recruitment preferable based in Yangon Myanmar.

Under the overall guidance and support of the UNAIDS Country Director (UCD), the short-term national consultant will closely work with the Community System Strengthening Officer to undertake the following activities during the contracted period:
Task 1: To review the existing CSS strategies in consultation with stakeholders
Task 2: consultation with PLHIV and KPs Network, and CSOs to prioritize community led activities for the CSS strategy
Task 3: New CSS strategy

Key Deliverables
• Tools for consultation with relevant stakeholders
• New CSS strategy including summary of review of 2015 CSS strategy
• Powerpoint presentation for dissemination workshop
