The UNPD Regional Procurement Office (RPO), on behalf of various UN Peacekeeping Missions in Africa, hereby invites qualified contractors from all countries to submit their Expression of Interest for the Removal, recycling or disposal of hazardous waste & Recycling, treatment or disposal of contaminated soil and water services. The services include hazardous waste management, performing the proper pick-up, packaging, transportation, storage, and disposal of hazardous waste in an environmentally sound and timely manner in accordance with all International, United Nations (UN) regulations, local laws, regulations, and requirements. Vendors shall, without additional expense to the UN, be responsible for obtaining any necessary licenses and permits, and for complying with any applicable national and local laws, codes, and regulations in connection with the execution of the work. This includes ensuring UN hazardous or toxic wastes are sent to licensed, permitted, and approved disposal sites. The wastes may include but not necessarily be limited to hazardous solid chemical; hazardous liquid chemical: contaminated fuel: used and/or contaminated oil: contaminated water: contaminated soil: oil contaminated solids: electronic waste: used battery cells: used lead-acid batteries: hazardous medical waste: expired drugs solid: expired drugs liquid: expired and/or contaminated food and rubber waste and inner tubes. The locations of the hazardous waste collection points would be spread over various UN Missions in Africa, and these points include the following. Additional collection points may be specified in the solicitation documents.
