rehabilitation of Al-Baker water treatment Plant project (600m3/hr)-Salahuddin Governorate

 1. Project background

This project aims to rehabilitate the Al-Baker water treatment Plant project (600m3/hr). The WTP is located in the Yathrib district- / southern of the Salahuddin governorate. This project is essential to enable the people of this area to back to their houses in a normal usual situation & helps restore stability to the area.        

This project serves about 30,000 people in Al Baker village, Al-Buhsan village, and al Bu Hashma village.

3.         Project Description:

Ground area 30000 m2 and building area 2800 m2, Internal Streets 4500 m2 and the project consists of multi-Parts as follows:

1.  Low Lift Pump Station

2. Sedimentation Pools

3. Sand Filters+ Washing station building

4. Chemical Station (chlorine & Alum)

5. High Lift Pump Station

6.  Generation Station and Transformers

7. Clay statin

8. Collection Tanks

9. Service buildings (security room, administration, and lab.)

10. BRC fence.

4.         Scope of Works (SoW)

the rehabilitation work includes civil, mechanical, and electrical works.

-           Civil works include but are not limited to; site preparation, repairing the external walls with white cement emulsion using cement& stone powder or sand, painting the interior walls and ceilings with plastic (silicon waterproof) paint, Repairing roofing joints, replacing the damaged roof tiles, remove the damaged concrete of walkway and recasting new concrete,  replacing the damaged steel and wood doors, maintenance the steel doors,  ceramic tiles for W.C, Chlorine basin, sanitary works, Maintenance of the sewerage network and all other civil works as indicated in the BOQ.

-           Electrical works include but are limited to providing a Transformer, Maintenance of the main control panel, Sub main electrical board for LLP, Sub main electrical board for HLP, Maintenance of electrical power boards, cables, Street lighting, electric works for buildings ( replacing of old damaged lights, ceiling fans, and switches ) and all other works as indicated in the BOQ. 

-           Mechanical works include but are limited to installing the intake steel structure, replacing an old damaged set of pumps for high lift Pumps ), installing submersible pumps, Rehabilitation of Sedimentation tanks, rehabilitating and operating the concrete filters, replacing electrical Gate &check Valves, Maintenance Electrical Gantry Cranes, replaced Chlorine & Alum Units ( pumps, mixers, dosing sys. ), Air Blowers for the backwash of filters,  backwash pumps,  maintenance the sludge scraping mechanism and all other works as indicated in the BOQ. 

4.     Duration of the Project (days): The Contractor must be prepared to conduct a complete turnover of the site within 210 days of the site receiving the award.
