Description

A.Background

  1. The United Nations World Food Programme hereinafter referred to as the “WFP”, with its Headquarters located in Via C.G. Viola, 68/70, 00148 Rome, Italy is the leading humanitarian organization saving lives and changing lives, delivering food assistance in emergencies and working with communities to improve nutrition and build resilience by assisting almost 100 million people in around 83 countries each year. About 17,000 people work for the organization, most of them in remote areas, directly serving the hungry poor.
  2. The WFP Communications, Advocacy and Marketing Division (CAM), located at WFP’s headquarters in Rome, seeks to purchase backpacks, wind/rain jackets and fleeces for WFP Merchandise Programme.
  3. An essential requirement for COBRANDING with WFP Logo is that the company’s logo is restrained and tasteful in the design. WFP is looking for an understated logo that matches our profile and most important it doesn’t overwhelm WFP logo.
  4. Companies shall hold high standards of consumer, environmental and worker safety. WFP has a “No child labour” policy that supplier must respect. In addition, eco-friendly is an asset such as partnership with bluesign® technologies to further reduce the environmental impact of their supply chain through the responsible management and selection of chemicals.
  5. WFP invites eligible suppliers to express their interest in providing backpacks, wind/rain jackets and fleeces.

B.The purpose of this EOI

  1. The purpose of this request for EOI is to identify suppliers with verified technical and financial capacity to provide the goods. Eligible suppliers will be invited to participate in the bidding process for the proposed tender.
  2. Eligibility to participate in the proposed tender will be determined on the basis of matching all technical specification details below plus colours selection required for the backpacks, wind/rain jackets and fleeces.

Backpack:  

  1. Colour variation: minimum 6 colours including black, dark grey and navy blue. Capacity: approx. 28-30 litters. Weight less than 1.20 kg. At least two main compartments – at least one to be size A4 and one computer compartment for tablet 25*20cm. Made of 420 D Nylon or any relevant material. Water repellent, mesh side pockets, external elastic cords and reflector holder and padded back.

Wind/ Rain Jacket:

  1. A two-layer waterproof coating jacket; water resistant (water column 25mm). Seam-sealed so that no rain or snow can penetrate. Windproof, vent technology: to protect against wind and rain while allowing the skin to breathe. Humidity regulation, quick drying. Mesh inside, chin guard, high closure. Front zipper is covered by a windbreak flap that prevents water from entering. Hood, foldable inside the neck, can be tightened with the choke cord. Stretch cuffs and side pockets covered with zip help keep you dry and block the cold wind. Expected colours: black or navy blue. Sizes: different sizes (from XS to XXXL)

Fleece:

  1. Polartec classic micro fleece with stretch overlay for added durability. Recycled polartec fleece, 1 chest pocket, 2 zipped hand pockets, elasticated hem and cuffs. Strech overlay in the upper body and forearms for added durability. Expected colours: black or navy blue; Sizes: different sizes (from XS to XXXL)

After the deadline for submission of responses has passed, WFP will evaluate responses received and will notify eligible participants of the outcome of the evaluation.

C.How to prepare and submit your Expression of Interest

  • Table 4. Supplier Relevant Experience;
  • Signatory by the authorized company representative and company stamp.

All supporting documentation listed above shall be prepared in accordance with the instructions provided and sent to WFP Procurement by email to HQ.tenders@wfp.org. The deadline for response to this request for EOI:
