Provision of ready-mix concrete to various locations in DRC

1. The United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO) seeks expression of interest (EOI) from duly registered companies for the provision of Ready-Mix Concrete (C-25 Grade) to be used for various projects in six locations; Beni, Bukavu, Bunia, Goma, Kinshasa and Uvira in the Democratic Republic of Congo 2.Contractor is responsible to produce, load, transport (by concrete transit mixer trucks) and unloading (Directly from the concrete transit mixer trucks or thru concrete pumps depending on the works requirement) of the ready-mix concrete of grade C-25 at the Site. 25 N/mm2 is the required characteristic compressive strength of ready-mix concrete at 28 days which will be tested by 150 mm. size cubes. Only mixed concrete supplied by ready-mixed concrete batching plant shall be accepted. 3. The rate for this item includes mobilization and demobilization costs, preliminary mix design and test cubes, labor, operators, materials, plants, and equipment necessary to mix, loading, transport, unloading, laboratory and field concrete sampling and testing, optional laboratory concrete testing and all insurances cost related to the job. 4. While the specifications indicate the general nature of the ready-mix concrete to be provided, it must be distinctly understood that MONUSCO reserves the right to alter the extent of the work as may be found desirable without in any way invalidating the conditions of the contract. 5. Minimum capacity of concrete transit mixer shall be 5 m3. 6. MONUSCO will undertake a competitive bidding exercise shortly and accordingly, intends to issue a request for proposal to those companies who would express their interest and provide initial relevant information demonstrating their ability to fulfill MONUSCO requirements. In addition, the interested companies will be required to complete UN Vendor registration for level 2 on the UN vendor database accessible at www.ungm.org 7. The EOI should specify brief relevant information about the company including the company’s profile, capacity/capability and experience. Vendors will be shortlisted based on their ability to provide the relevant documents showing that they are able to meet the requirement. Interested vendors must provide the following documents with their response. 8. Please note that this request for EOI is not an invitation to submit bids. 9. MONUSCO reserves the right in selecting the invitees for the competitive bidding based on substantial and proven records of performance in the subject field of activities and submission of an EOI would not automatically warrant receipt of the solicitation documents. MONUSCO reserves the right to reject EOIs received after the deadline indicated below. 10.
