United Nations Office at Nairobi (hereinafter referred to as UNON) on behalf of UN-Habitat's country office in Sao Tome and Principe (hereinafter referred to as UN-Habitat) anticipates to hire a construction company to undertake rehabilitation of a Warehouse Building in Roça Uba Budo in the Sao Tome Island. Once rehabilitated, the Warehouse will serve as a processing unit for Agricultural products. It will also house a separate Unit where administration activities of the food processing unit will be carried out. The warehouse will also accommodate a care-room for women victims of domestic violence, sexual abuse and alcoholism and a community center. BACKGROUND OF THE PROJECT UN-Habitat in collaboration with WFP, UNFPA and ILO are implementing a project to improve food and nutrition security in São Tomé and Príncipe. The project aims to increase agricultural production capacity at country level, in particular in corn and bean production. With this project, it is also intended to improve the processing capacity of these same products, contributing to food and nutritional security at the national level. In the implementation of this project, it is up to the UN-habitat and elaboration and execution of the project for the rehabilitation of a state warehouse, located in the project area. SPECIFICATIONS OF THE WAREHOUSE REHABILITATION WORKS The specifications of the warehouse rehabilitation works for their conversion into a food processing plant are as follows: • Cleaning and preparation of the construction site, • Disassembly of the existing roof in a part of the building, • Preparation of foundations and floor coverings, • Biting of the walls and masonry of laying blocks, • Excavation of the walls for passage and placement of electrical appliances including solar panels, • Preparation and assembly of structures for the roof of the building, • Realization of the roof building, • Application of crockery and sanitary equipment, • Placement of doors and structures for ventilation and natural lighting of the interior of the building, • Integral painting, • Construction of the drying structure of products. Construction companies (hereinafter referred to as “Applicants”) in Sao Tome and Principe, and from other countries in the world, specializing in the field of civil construction and public works interested in carrying out this work should submit their applications for consideration as potential bidders All applications should be sent through the link provided in this request for expression of interest (hereinafter referred to as REOI). The REOI Reference No. and the title should be inserted in the subject line. All applicants will be invited to participate in the competitive process (Request for Quotation) that will follow this REOI. IMPORTANT Please note that this REOI is not an invitation for submission of tenders. Its purpose is to identify eligible vendors that would be interested to participate in the upcoming tender and who are qualified to undertake the procurement. UNON reserves the right to change or cancel the requirement of this REOI at any time during the EOI and/or solicitation process.
