United Nations Office at Nairobi (hereinafter referred to as UNON) on behalf of UN-Habitat-Andean Countries HUB (hereinafter referred to as UN-Habitat) intends to support the provision of urban intervention and improvement services in Nueva Caja de Agua and Primero de Mayo - Cercado de Lima, for the development of networks of safe micro-spaces for integration within the framework of the "Inclusive Cities, Solidarity Communities" project. Project Background The Project objective is to carry out urban intervention and urban space recovery actions in one network of micro-spaces in the Cercado de Lima to improve the resilience of human settlements in the process of welcoming Venezuelan refugee and migrant communities and to provide the community with spaces conducive to integral human development aimed at inclusion, integration and risk prevention and mitigation. In the above context and in order to achieve the results identified, it is necessary to collect primary information regarding demographic, social, economic, and spatial data in order to be able to target project interventions in the places that should be prioritized based on this information to promote the inclusion of refugees and migrants and host communities in vulnerable conditions. Specific Project Objectives The specific objectives of the Project are as follows: (1)Strengthening host communities and improving economic and social inclusion for vulnerable refugee and migrant populations in transition in host communities. (2)Design and support actions to protect migrant and refugee populations, and improve their access to documentation, guidance, and basic rights, also favoring host communities that so require. Overall Project Objectives The Project aims to achieve the following five main results in the short, medium, and long term: (1)Local governments are better informed and prepared to manage migrant and refugee groups in transition and in vulnerable flight. (2)Inclusion of migration, and asylum-related challenges and opportunities in urban strategies and planning. (3)Promoting social cohesion and preventing conflicts between host communities and migrants/refugees. (4 )Strengthening the capacity of local governments to respond to the specific needs and challenges faced by migrants and refugees, with the participation of the private sector and other relevant actors to ensure transparency and inclusion of migrants and host communities, in the decision-making that affects them. (5)Systematization and dissemination to other cities, on best practices in the design and implementation of public policies for socio-economic stabilization and integration, of migrant populations and host communities, within the framework of the project's objectives. Project Duration It is estimated that the works will be undertaken and completed within a period of five (5) months. Tender Documents/Package The complete tender package including the specifications, scope of work, the detailed breakdown of specific deliverables expected from the contractor, Bills of Quantities, drawings and plans etc, shall be provided in the tender documents that will be issued subsequent to this REOI. IMPORTANT Please note that this REOI is not an invitation for submission of tenders. Its purpose is invite interested vendors/institutions to apply in order to be invited to participate in the upcoming tender process. UNON reserves the right to change or cancel the requirement of this REOI at any time during the EOI and/or solicitation process. Submitting a reply does not therefore automatically guarantee that your company will be considered for issuance of the solicitation documents. Applicants should note that UNON, at its sole discretion, reserves the right to request for additional information or documentation should this be required. No payment will be made by UNON to applicants or any other entity for any costs, expenses, losses or damages incurred or suffered by the applicant or any other entity arising out of or in connection with the preparation of the application.
