The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation (MFAIC) is Sierra Leone’s principal international voice and gateway to the outside world. Its core responsibilities include promotion of Government’s interest in the international forums, forging partnerships for mutual benefits, as well as promoting the country’s image overseas and to meet the Ministry’s overall objective of building a first class foreign service with capacity to formulate and implement a sound vision and mission as well as clear strategic objectives., the Ministry is undertaking a series of reforms intended to ensure that its structure and functioning supports its ability to deliver on its core mandate re-position it to play a more strategic role within the rapidly changing global diplomatic landscape. The reforms amongst others are intended to enable them provide policy and advisory services on domestic, regional and global issues; and support coordination among divisions and missions abroad to constantly refine and update Sierra Leone’s foreign policy strategy. Among the areas that the Ministry is putting emphasis is skills training and competency development for its staff at all levels. This is intended to enhance their knowledge and skills as well as build their aptitudes to improve productivity and service delivery in line with its objective of building a first class foreign service. In this regard the Ministry is now looking for a consultant/firm to help with the design, development of modules and delivery of series of tailor-made courses to be run at the Ministry HQs and in conjunction with the Civil Service Training College.
