The bidder can purchase and install additional compatible lithium battery if it will improve the overall performance of the system and gives more autonomy for the critical load and higher Solar Energy penetration rate and/or reduce Levelized Cost of Electricity.

Here is the good answer: QUESTION: Please confirm if we have to submit a $ 5000 USD Bid security for each lot OR only one $ 5000 USD security bid even a bidder submit a proposal for 2, 3, or the 4 lots?UNOPS ANSWER: Please note that the 5000 USD is the total BID security, Whether you are bidding for one lot, two lots or more the amount of the BID Security is the same 5000 USD.

New clarification added: QUESTION: Hello, I would like to know the percentage to consider for the guarantee for proposal?UNOPS Answer: If you refer to the BID Security, The amount is USD 5,000.00 for any and all the LOTS in the form of a bank guarantee. It's not a percentage. QUESTION: Is the expectation that the batteries currently installed at each site are to be integrated with the new system/batteries? I ask this because it is not considered good practice in the industry to mix old and new batteries and, also, mixing lead acid/gel batteries with lithium iron is virtually impossible.UNOPS Answer: All the design needs to be provided by the companies considering the final LCOE. If the companies decide to consider the system already installed at the hospitals, they will be responsible for the functioning of the system. ONLY the lithium batteries already purchased by UNOPS is a requirement to be incorporated. All the other systems depend on the design to be provided by each company. New clarification added: Sir/Madam, Due to unforeseen events in Haiti actually, fuel problem, strike and so on, we are forced to review the site visit format. Instead of a collective one, we have a staff in place at the different hospitals with a general understanding of the needs. Any vendor who wishes to visit the sites in the meantime will find an available staff to guide. Considering that the site's visit is a mandatory step, we strongly recommend you to use this method instead. We have suggested this format also to help you better manage your proposal preparation time. Feel free to call me or my colleagues Leticia and Ronald if you have any questions regarding the site's visit. Be sure to have registered your name and the company you represent at the time you will visit.
