Description

CONSTRUCTION OF 136 UPGRADED SHELTERS IN BASIRMA CAMP IN ERBIL, IRAQ.

The work includes the following:

  1. Site Preparation and Earth Works:
  • The work includes supply of material, labour and equipment for dislodging the existing cesspools, clearance of site (debris removal, dressing, levelling with Subbase, watering and compaction to the desired levels).
  • Provide materials and workforce, tools & machines (three-wheel type rollers, pneumatic-tired rollers ...) and all requirements for placing double dressing in three layers with bitumen.
  •  Supply materials, equipment, tools, and labours to construct a Trapezoidal-type open channel for the internal roads to collect and evacuate the Grey and Stormwater inside the camp to the existing inlets.

 

  1.  Shelter construction works:
  • Cast plain concrete class(20) (1:2:4) for floor 12 cm thickness with all necessary works (WITH 2 OR MORE LAYERS OF BLOCK WALL UNDER THE  FOUNDATION TO LEVEL IT).
  • Provide all the materials, machines, and workforce needed to construct a room with dimension of  (4mx 8m) and (2.64m) height using Hollow concrete block (20x20x40)cm and cement mortar 1:3.
  • Provide all the needed materials, machines and skilled labour for plastering the external and the internal walls with two layers not less than (2cm) thickness.
  • Supply and install sandwich panel roof with iron frames.
  • Supply and install electricity fitting inside the shelter.
  • Supply and install PVC doors and windows.

 

  1. Kitchen construction works:
  • Cast plain concrete class(20) (1:2:4) for floor 12 cm thickness with all necessary works (WITH 2 OR MORE LAYERS OF BLOCK WALL UNDER THE  FOUNDATION TO LEVEL IT).
  • Supply materials and construction concrete Hollow block wall (20x20x40)cm for the kitchen (2.2x2.6)m and the height of (2.64m).
  • Provide and instal a stainless steel suspended washbasin of double wings & 1 bowel of good quality (0.6)mm thickness.
  • Provide and instal 4" PVC pipe Good quality 4mm thickness.
  • Supply and instal sandwich panel roof with iron frames.
  • Supply and instal electricity fitting inside the shelter.
  • Supply and instal steel hinged doors (200x80)cm, with steel angle frame 2x2inch 2mm thickness, plated on one side (steel plate gauge 18).
  • Supply and install iron windows (60cm*40cm), with steel angle frame 2x2 inch 2mm thickness with all required; the price includes installing glasses 4mm thickness.

 

  1. Building New Sanitation Units (Super Structures, Latrines &  Showers) Works:
  •  Cast plain concrete class(20) (1:2:4) for floor 12 cm thickness with all necessary works (WITH 2 OR MORE LAYERS OF BLOCK WALL UNDER THE  FOUNDATION TO LEVEL IT).
  • Supply materials and construction concrete Hollow block wall (20x20x40)cm for the kitchen (2.2x2.6)m and the height of (2.64m).
  • Provide and instal a stainless steel suspended washbasin of double wings & 1 bowel of good quality (0.6)mm thickness.
  • Provide and instal 4" PVC pipe Good quality 4mm thickness.
  • Supply and instal sandwich panel roof with iron frames.
  • Supply and instal electricity fitting inside the shelter.
  • Supply and instal steel hinged doors (220x80)cm with steel angle frame 1x1 inch 2mm thickness, plated on one side (steel plate gauge 18).
  • Supply and instal iron windows (40cm*40cm), with steel angle frame 1x1 inch 2mm thickness with all required; the price includes installing glasses 4mm thickness.
  • Supply materials and build reinforcement concrete manholes of (40X40)cm.
  • Provide materials, tools, equipment and skilled labour to install a new water supply system at the household level on the kitchen roof for each newly constructed shelter as per BoQ.
  • Provide all necessary materials to pave the internal shower & latrine floors by using anti-slip ceramic tiles.
  • Provide all required materials to instal 10 cm height of sidewalls (Skirting) by using anti-slip ceramic tiles
  1. New Sewerage Pipelines extension and improving the existing main underground WASH facilities works:
  • The work includes supply of material, labour and equipment for installation 6”, 8” sewerage lines with masonry manholes.
  • Provide materials and build a septic tank of internal dimension (LxWxD, 4.5 m X 2 m X min 2m under inlet pipe level).
  • Provide materials and drill/build a cesspool 1.1 m outer diameter for septic tank effluent infiltration according to attached drawings, 7 m depth. Casing (6 m) by using double wall corrugated pipes of inner diameter 80 cm minimum and 1 m from the top/ground level by a concrete ring of min.80 cm dia.
  • Provide all required materials, machines, and workforce for improving, rehabilitating and fixing ALL old defected, existing underground functional WASH facilities (Septic tanks, Cesspools, Manholes, Sewerage and Water Supply Pipelines) in & close to the newly constructed 136 shelters area.
  1. Water Pipes Network Works:
  • provision of equipment and workforce for excavating ditches for pipe burials in all types of soils and earth layers according to the layout given in the drawings and approved by the Municipality. The excavation equipment must be at least 60 cm away from the edge of the ditch. The works include disposal of waste material outside of the Municipality borders or as approved by the supervisor engineer.

 

  1. Electricity network Works:
  • The work also includes supply and install a new HV and LV electricity distribution network inside the area. The work should be according to the BoQ, Drawing and comply with MOE standard.

 

Important Note:

  • UNHCR engineers or a Third Party will inspect the quality of material and workmanship. The work must be within engineering specifications/standards and time limit.
  • The contractor is responsible for preparing detailed shop drawings before starting the constitution and as build drawings after completing the construction.
  • UNHCR will provide monitoring forms to the contractor, and the contractor is responsible for filling these forms.
  • The daily works will be overseen by a UNHCR engineer, partners, or third-party who will be onsite daily.
  • Daily and Weekly reports by the contractor will be prepared and submitted to the supervising engineers for endorsement.
  • Detailed description and specifications are determined in the attached BOQ as Annex-B.
  • The contractor must complete works as per the Bill of Quantities and Technical Specifications within 120 calendar days from the site handover date.
  • The maintenance or Warranty period of the project is one year, which starts from the effective date of the project handover by all members.
  • Safe removal and disposal of used or leftover material from the site to the location identified by the UNHCR Engineer will be the contractor's responsibility.
