The secretariat of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) hereby solicits your expression of interest for the above requirement, and is hereby announcing its intent to issue a Request for Proposal to interested and qualified providers that can provide services for insurance cover relating to Appendix D of the UN Staff Rules.

Description of Requirement:
The secretariat of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) is seeking a qualified service provider to enter into a contract with the secretariat for the provision of insurance coverage for compensation in the event of death, injury or illness attributable to the performance of official duties on behalf of UNFCCC (Appendix D of the UN staff rules).
The intended period of insurance cover is from 1 January 2009 through 31 December 2011. This insurance would be for staff members recruited under the 100, 200 and 300 series of the UN staff rules and for consultants/individual contractors engaged under a Special Service Agreement.
The EOI must include a description of the company profile and details of relevant experience in provision of insurance cover for international clients. However, such description shall be limited to 1-2 pages length. Please do not include copies of certifications at this stage. EOIs that do not contain the information requested for evaluation by UNFCCC will be rejected.
