Rental of optical fibers networks
- Description of Requirement:
Procurement at the United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG) is carried out by the Purchase and Transportation Section (PTS). In addition, PTS acts as the Secretariat of the Common Procurement Activities Group (CPAG) for UNOG and Member Organizations in Geneva. The CPAG strives to standardize and to pool procurement volumes of its Member Organizations in order to allow economies of scale.
In order to consolidate and renew its metropolitan network contracts, UNOG intends to launch the ITBS-178/YAN (Invitation to Bid) for its entire dark fiber links across Geneva.
The vendor is required to be prepared to provide answers for the ITB-178/YAN to the following questions:
- Technical specifications of the proposed optical fibers.
- Ownership of the infrastructure.
- The vendor should use the same type of connectors that UNOG has for its current links, as mentioned below.

- The vendor should use the actual technical rooms for the fiber end points.
- The vendor should specify the timeframe required to deploy the optical fibers to each of the sites and to the entire network
- The vendor should provide a detailed diagram of the proposed solution.
The contract should be in place and become effective on 1 September 2011 for a period of 3 years and may at the sole option of the UNOG extended of a maximum of two additional periods of up to two years each.

6. Business References. Please provide Letters of reference from at least three clients to whom your company has provided goods/services over the past twelve months. The recommendation letter must be prepared in the reference sources letterhead and signed by their representatives, who awarded an order to your firm or who administered your contract. Please also indicate fax numbers, email addresses and contact person for your reference sources so that the UNOG can contact them as and when required.
