Garbage Collection and Disposal Services at the UNGSC, Brindisi, Italy

The United Nations Global Service Centre (UNGSC), with its Headquarters located in Brindisi, Italy, seeks an appropriately qualified contractor for the establishment of a long-term contract for the provision of Garbage Collection and Disposal Services at the UNGSC, Brindisi, Italy. The services entail and are not limited to: - Provision of bins for 37 collection points (Grey for dry non-recyclable undifferentiated waste, Brown for humid/organic waste) of approximately 150 liters each, as well as bio-degradable bags to be installed in each bin and replaced as required and at least two (2) times per week. The number of collection points may increase or decrease by five (5) units; these variations shall not affect the monthly rate. - Characterization of waste; Provision of chemical analysis to determine the type of waste, including the attribution of European Code. - Collection and transportation of waste kept in the 37 collection points (Grey and Brown bins) located in the UNGSC premises, from UNGSC to the final dump site, two (2) times per week. The number of collection points may increase or decrease by five (5) units; these variations shall not affect the monthly rate. - Cleaning and disinfection services of all Grey and Brown garbage bins once every month. - Disposal of garbage collected (Grey garbage bins – CER code 200301). - Disposal of garbage collected ((Brown garbage bins – CER code 160306). All waste must be transferred by using vehicles owned by the Contractor that must be registered in the “Register of environmental managers” (“Albo Gestori Ambientali”) in the Category required to manage the CER codes. Contract term: It is anticipated that the contract duration will be for an initial period of one (1) year with the sole option to UNGSC to extend the contract under the same terms and conditions for one (1) additional period of one year.
